Paseka: The House of Cranberries (book launch)
Come to the launch and debate with the author Maria Hajdová and the godmother of the book, writer Viktoria Hanišová. Excerpts from The Cranberry House will be read by actress Anna Tomanová and the evening will be moderated by Jan M. Heller.
On the outskirts of the village in the heart of the forgotten Rychleby Mountains, a stone house surrounded by an avenue of rare cranes has stood for generations and is nicknamed the "Crane House". It is to this house that Lucie returns. For the summer, or forever. The old house was a safe haven for her as a child and now, as life crumbles through her fingers, she seeks shelter here again. With her return, Lucie upsets the delicate balance of the locals' lives. The Cranberry House is a relationship novel about motherhood in all its forms, about returns and new beginnings. It tells the story of how some roots are not so easily uprooted and that we can put them down where we would least expect it.
