Sally Grayson + Hippie Chippies
Sally Grayson
German-based American singer-songwriter Sally Grayson will bring her western gothic rock full of distorted guitars, lap steel guitar and the aesthetics of the American Southwest to Prague. Haunted highways, long sunsets, mysterious strangers and a mixture of longing and sadness that propels the ride through the starry night. The theme of the current album The Darkness In Me are questions about the coexistence of suffering and love. In the midst of so much systemic prejudice and pain, how can we step forward and hope for a new dawn? What is around the next bend and over the next hill?
Hippie Chippies
The Mělník western garage band, which Tonda Kocábek aptly described in one of last year's issues of UNI magazine as "lifelong punks who put aside their former poses and confess their love of country". This time, instead of a full fire of drums and apparatus, they'll dump acoustics and a cajon out of the band van and show Čítárna how western mixes with folk and punk into one shattering Czech blend. As the band members themselves say, "Tarantino would have made another film based on this mix, but one thing is certain - we already have a soundtrack, and it's straight from the heart. We won't be stopping for long..."
