Phillip Bracken + NINA ROSA solo
Singer and composer Phillip Brackenoriginally from the east coast of Australia, moved to Poland in 2013. His music blends funk, ambient, soul, indie folk/rock, world music and other genres. Suggestive vocals and haunting rhythms are at the forefront. The native Australian returns to Prague for the first time since Pandemic and, in addition to songs from his debut album Wolf Ahead Tiger Behind will also play new material from the upcoming studio album he is working on with the band.
NINA ROSA is a project of Slovak composer, violinist and singer Nina Marinova, who has been working in Prague since her studies at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory. The band consists of accordionist Michal Mihok and guitarist Antonín Dlapa. NINA ROSA was nominated for the Radio_Head Awards in the Discovery of the Year category in its first year. With her debut album Discover the group earned nominations for Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Debut of the Year. NINY ROSA's work is characterized by unusual compositional ingenuity, sound experiments and a diverse mosaic of musical styles from gypsy jazz to chanson to reggae and electronica. In the Reading Room, Nina will present her work in intimate arrangements accompanied only by violin, guitar and looper.
