Marie Puttnerová with band

Singer Marie Puttner, moving around the Czech music scene in the original line-ups Jablkoň, Půljabkoň and Zvíře imena Podzim, will perform with his band (Martin Novák, Petr Uvira, Martin Brunner) again in Prague.

Jablkoň, Půljabkoň and Zvíře jménem Podzim (Animal named Podzim) and Martin Novák (Robert Křesťan & Druhá tráva, Lanugo, Blue Shadows, Jaromír Honzák Quintet, David Dorůžka/Robert Fischmann/Martin Novák) have teamed up, to create a shared musical world consisting not only of Puttner's original songs, but also a world in which one can hear shards of the poetry of the fragile Jan Zahradníček or the surreal Vlastimil Třešňák. After inviting the Opava guitar wizard Petr Uvira (Ladě, Heimat, Jitka Šuranská, Vladivojna la Chia) to collaborate, a symbiosis of human voices and electric guitars was created, pushing the imaginary boundaries of folk in a captivating and urgent way.

In 2022, however, a crucial connection was made with British producer Eddie Stevens (Druhá tráva, Jana Kirschner, Roisín Murphy, Moloko), thanks to which Puttner's debut album Laila tov was released on 28 April 2023. The original sound of the trio has really transformed with their work together, and so the band has expanded with a fourth member, composer, pianist and synthesizer player Martin Brunner (Martin Brunner Trio, The Prague Six, Markéta Foukalová, Klara & The Pop).

Marie Puttnerová became the winner of the Album of the Year 2023 poll, which is announced annually by the editors of Radio Proglas. The poll was attended by 110 respondents - publicists, musicians, concert and festival organizers, promoters and selected representatives of radio listeners. The album was equally successful at the Coca-Cola Angel Awards 2023, when on 30 March 2024 it received the winner's award in the Folk category.
