Radio 1 Close-up #6: Douglas Arellanes
The sixth face-to-face meeting with the voices of Radio 1 under the moderation of Jerry Žák and Jana Kománková. Our pre-Christmas guest will be Douglas Arellanes. A native of Los Angeles, he moved to Prague in 1992 and from the very first day he was here, his voice was heard on the airwaves of Radio 1. He regularly broadcasts on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, focusing on independent music mainly from Latin America. He's very fond of music that has a groove.
In addition to broadcasting, he works as a technologist, marketing consultant and lecturer in journalism at the Anglo-American University in Prague. He translates from Czech to English - among others, he is the author of the translation of the book The economics of good and evil by Tomáš Sedláček, and this year he translated the book and TV series Identity: the story of Czech graphic design.
