Rob Clamp (UK) + Loes & Honza (NL)
The Reading Room is proud to be joined for the third time by the dynamic and captivating artist Rob Clamp from Southampton, UK! Rob has won numerous awards including the highly regarded Purbeck Rising Festival and the Sofia International Singer Songwriter Festival in Bulgaria. Heavily influenced by names such as Ben Howard, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Bruce Springsteen, Rob's music is full of real life experiences, interpreted in his own engaging storytelling style, with acoustic guitar accompanied by a variation of foot percussion.
Dutch singer and guitarist Loes van Schaijk („Lucy“) and Czech singer and violinist Honza Bartošek („Johnny“) are not a typical „girl with guitar, boy with violin“ duo. Honza's groovy fiddle playing, Loesa's flawless phrasing and their two strong and flexible voices reveal progressive bluegrass, Irish and Scottish trad, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon and Fleetwood Mac - with a dash of jazz - as their main influences.
Rob, Loes and Honza met for the first time at the International Songwriters Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria, where Rob won first prize and Loes second. They have been friends ever since and have shared the stage several times on tours of the UK and continental Europe.
