Geographies of pain: the disease of the body in literature
Presentation of the first issue of this year's Plav magazine dedicated to diseases of the body.
Jan Musil, the editor and author of the concept of the issue, will guide the popular educational programme of the evening. In the discussion, we will focus primarily on the texts of American writers Audre Lorde and Anne Boyer on breast cancer, which from a feminist perspective draw attention to the close connection between the intimate and political levels of the disease. Other texts of the issue are presented in the form of play performances from the workshop of the travelling cabaret artist Richard L. Kramár. Have you ever tried*to portray "the way priests can suffer"?
Free admission.
