Iva Jungwirth: Cejtit kostičky

The main character Zuzana longs to finally have her dream man and become a famous actress. She begins to fulfill her dreams in Prague in the free 90s. Everything seems simple - she becomes an actress, she has her man, but nothing is as she dreamt in her girlhood fantasies. She fends off her feelings of loneliness with more and more arms of men and throws herself into new relationships in the naive belief that she will find her prince charming. One story of a wasted life catches up with her, the fear of being left alone, of never having a child. The stories are arranged linearly in the book, and Susan lives through five tumultuous years. They take place in Prague, the Eagle Mountains, Germany, Sweden and Norway. At the same time as Zuzana discovers her womanhood, she also gets to know foreign countries that have been closed off by the Iron Curtain. She longs to live in them, but never has enough courage and never loves enough to follow her currently found prince. Only one man finally perseveres and Susan, though no longer wanted, is found.

Iva Jungwirtová (first name Ivana Pernicová)
He comes from Mariánské Lázně. She graduated from the Ježek Conservatory - majoring in acting, and then from the Department of Educational Drama at DAMU. She is engaged in theatre as an actress, puppeteer and teacher. She has acted on the street, in puppet theatre, in film, led children's theatre groups and acting courses. She has taught in literary and dramatic fields at the Elementary School, and worked as a museum lecturer. Now she works as a teacher at the Secondary School of Education, where she teaches literary and language practice and drama education. In addition to writing, which she does in her spare time, she is also involved in visual arts, collaborating in the realization of scenographic designs and puppets. She creates sculptural objects from ceramics and wood. She is a co-founder of the Karrosa Theatre and the Circle of Art.
