Reading with Respect: Bruno Latour (lounge)
Bruno Latour: Back on the ground a Where am I?
Bruno Latour, the world's leading sociologist and philosopher of science, has devoted his latest works to the climate crisis and the experience of the pandemic. The influential French intellectual died last year at the age of 75. What did he come to at the end of his life? Have we learned any lessons from the shock we went through in response to the spread of a new virus around the world? What change in attitude does the all-encompassing environmental crisis require? And how, according to Latour, does the fateful transformation of Gregor Samsa and Prague relate to all this?
Come to the next debate / recording of the podcast Reading with Respekt. Together with Pavel Barša and Romana Jungwirth Březovská, we will talk about Latour's essay Where am I? and the previous book Back on the ground, published in Czech translation by Neklid.
The editorial team of the weekly Respekt analyses once a month a selected book that you should not miss. We alternate between fiction and non-fiction. We read proven and new titles. Come read the announced works with us and share your reading experience on the podcast. Hosted by Štěpán Sedláček.
Free admission. The event will take place in the lounge - to the left of the entrance.
