Openly about Prague #5: Caring for the cultural heritage of Prague
In cooperation with Open House and Krenovka, we invite you to another debate from the Open about Prague series, this time focusing on Prague's cultural heritage and its care. Prague is repeatedly ranked as one of the most beautiful cities on the world map. Our ancestors left us an extraordinary legacy in the form of a diverse range of historical buildings from different architectural periods. Prague is a jewel that survived the horrors of the Second World War with little damage. Do we value sufficiently the architectural values we have preserved in Prague? Are we able to contribute to the flourishing of the capital, to enrich it with new achievements and to care for it with due respect and expertise? These are just some of the questions that will be raised in the panel debate on the care of Prague's architectural heritage.
They will speak:
Kateřina Bečková - Vice-Chairwoman of the Club For Old Prague
Petr Hlaváček - Deputy Mayor of the City of Prague
Ivo Macek - Director of the Museum of the City of Prague
Jaroslav Podliska - Director of the Territorial Department of the National Heritage Institute
The debate will be moderated by Michal Šedivý, a lecturer of the year-round Open House events.
Free admission.
