Josef Sudek was an important Czech photographer of Prague motifs, studio arrangements, still life, reportage, landscape and advertising. He started photography at the age of 17. He created his peak works at a mature age - after he had resigned himself to the influences of modern trends. He was born on 17 March 1896 in Cologne.

Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, known as T. G. M., TGM or President Liberator, was a Czechoslovak statesman, philosopher, sociologist and educator, the first President of the Czechoslovak Republic. On his 80th birthday in 1930, the Act of Merit of T. G. M. was passed.

Jiří Šalamoun was a Czech artist, illustrator and author of cartoons and posters. His best known work is the cartoon Maxipes Fík. In addition to the book, he also contributed to the animated series, featured mainly in the TV series of evening cartoons.

Václav Bedřich was a Czech artist, animator and director. Václav Bedřich was unable to study during World War II, so he worked in the AFIT film studios and became a leading animator. Later he moved to the Brothers in Trick studio and animated for Jiří Trnka.

Reuben "Ruby" Braff was an American jazz trumpeter and cornetist. He was born in Boston on March 16, 1927.
