Alternative x Reading Room: Grandmothers Favourite (AT/CZ)

Grandmothers Favourite is an international group that was formed by the meeting of two peculiar musical entities at the end of 2022 in Vienna.

The duo of musicians and improvisers Daniel Bierdümpfl and Jakub Švejnar meet at the crossroads of clear structures and abstraction, noise and melody, precision and dirt. 

They are defined by a common need to create new music in real time and to leave convention behind. Instant composition, dense electronics, lightning-fast interplay and an intense, fludgy groove.

In addition to their primary instruments (guitar/keys, drums), they use electronics, objects, flutes and voices to bring a rich and varied soundscape.
