Argo: Across the Atlantic and back again
Book Across the Atlantic and back again comes out in Argo publishing house on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of the Anglo-American Authors Series (AAA), a prestigious book series awarded, among other things, the Magnesia Literary Award for publishing achievement, and brings selected afterwords by leading Czech English-language writers on English-language literature from the 1950s to the present day. The individual essays do not "only" offer an insightful discussion of English-language fiction, but also eloquently illustrate the manner and quality of writing about English-language literature in the Czech Republic over the last thirty years. The evening, devoted to the published collection of essays and to English and American literature in general, will be moderated by the book's editor, English scholar and translator Petr Onufer; its guests will be selected essayists such as Ladislav Nagy, Alena Dvořáková, Martin Pokorný, etc.
Musical accompaniment will be provided by Tomáš Pácalt (Bumbrle, La Prosperité, T.G.P.) and Štěpán Dlouhý (Dingo, Lezok).
The book will be available for purchase on site at a discounted price. Free admission.
