Frankenguitar Session
Eight musicians, one guitar.
_____
Strange creature. Acoustic and electrical. Guitar and bass...
On the eleventh floor of a Prague apartment block and in a barn behind the hills in the Polička countryside.
Dark and sleepless nights, mysterious and terrible sounds, shavings, dust, toil. The shadows of a mad guitar maker on the stone walls.
It took a long time, and there were rumours in the area.
Until one day it all stopped... Amazing scene. A body carved from choice pieces of exotic woods and a soul made of wires and circuits from the distant mountain landscapes of Switzerland.
So the terrible instrument came to life. For a while there was a sacred silence... and then there was a sound. Sounds of an entirely different character: noble, beautiful, gentle and anguished at the same time...
_____
The connecting element of this unusual concert will be the guitar from the hands of guitarist Magdalena Dolejšová. Inside this semi-hollowbody is built unique electronics PolyBass, which adds bass frequencies to the sound of the lower strings. The result is a surprisingly versatile instrument on which eight musicians will play songs of various genres during the evening.
