Daniel Polman - Race Across America

Film and lecture on Race Across America.

In June 2019, Dan Polman completed the nearly 5,000 km Race Across America across the USA from the West Coast (California) to the East Coast (Maryland) in 10 days, 19 hours and 49 minutes. He became the third Czech in the 38-year history of the race to complete it. Petr Novák (Beehouse.cz) recorded the whole story (from the broken collarbone shortly before the start, to the RAAM itself, to the team's welcome in the crowded square in Nová Paka).

More about RAAM:
The limit for completing the 4940 km long race is just 12 days, and its route takes you through three deserts with temperatures of up to 50°C, over three mountain passes with a height of 3,000 metres, where temperatures are around zero, across plains with endless plains and strong winds, and through an area with frequent rain. Dan improved on his best Czech time and placing, finishing 7th overall and 4th in the under 50 category. He averaged 460 kilometres per day and slept for 1 hour and 40 minutes. How is it possible to sustain such an extreme performance? What is there to experience and see on a journey across the USA? Hear the answer to these and many other questions directly from Dan Polman. You will also be able to purchase Dan's books and other items from his e-store: danielpolman.com/e-shop.
