Jazzmania of Vladimír Kouril #244

The next installment of the Reader's traditional Jazzmania program features a trumpet by Chet Baker from his most famous period in the mid-1950s. Additionally, we will commemorate guitarist Kenny Barron's 80th birthday in June. Also of interest will be the extraordinary quartet recordings of trumpeter Štěpánka Balcarová in her Czech-Polish ensemble, interesting duets between American saxophonist Greg Osby and Swiss drummer Florian Arbenz, and in the occasional section of music beyond jazz we will hear samples of Laurie Anderson's music performed by the Kronos Quartet.
