Jono Heyes & Beehive

Jono Heyes comes from the mountainous interior of New Zealand, but currently lives in a maringot in southern Bohemia. In 2019 he was nominated for the New Zealand Music Award for Best Folk Artist.

Jone Heyes collaborates on the Beehive project with seven musicians from the Czech Republic, France and Sweden. This innovative album of original songs takes listeners on a worldwide tour and explores existential themes. The album is infused with the unique and beautiful tonal colours from Jone Heyes' homemade acoustic instruments and draws on a variety of influences from the Sahara, Mongolia, Africa, Cuba, Eastern Europe and beyond.
