David Kolovratník - Saturn Festivities

The title of the exhibition "Saturn Festivities" is based on the combination of the titles of Paul Verlaine's first two collections of poetry, i.e. the gloomy and decadent "Saturn Poems" together with "Gallant Festivities" interwoven with the atmosphere of opulent Rococo and frivolous commedia dell'arte satirizing social conventions and moral shortcomings. The leitmotif is the mask, disguise and mimicry, i.e. the act of hiding the taboo (whether it is the deformity of the body or the perversion of the soul) and presenting the fraudulent, falsified and illusory side of reality, which the artist questions in a Cartesian way and metaphorically sheds the skin under which lies the melting flesh of our cynical society.

Free admission. At the opening, the Blood Man will play.
