Ma Records: Evil Joe (album release) + Mushushsu

Mushushu, an improvisational duo composed of members of the radical band Stratocluster, will open the evening with their unique performance, where Luan Gonçalves' double bass undergoes post-processing under the hands of Mikuláš Mrva. The players' gestures of playing the double bass sometimes disappear under the volume onslaught of sampled loops, only to become part of the dialogue after which they disappear, leaving space for the strings and bass frequencies to speak again.

They will be followed by the international trio Evil Joe, which was founded in 2023 in Berlin. The band, consisting of Edith Steyer (clarinet, effects), Vojta Drnek (accordion) and Kellen Mills (bass, effects), explores the clichés of "evil" in music through improvisation and transforms them into a modern sound architecture. Evil Joe will release their debut album on Ma Records.
