(Not) Leaving: Václav Havel at 90

Opening of an exhibition of authentic photographs from the filming of the first – and also the last – film by President and world-renowned playwright Václav Havel Leaving (2011), taken on the final day of filming (19 August 2010) by photographer, filmmaker and cameraman Zdeněk Kovář at Ploskovice Castle near Litoměřice. The exhibition will be complemented by photographs of Václav Havel by other photographers: Ivan Prokop, Karel Šuster, Jiří Janda and others.

During the evening, three previously unpublished interviews will be screened, which were filmed with Václav Havel in July 2006 – shortly before his 70th birthday – by a small film crew at Hrádeček for the Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště. Film historian Jan Lukeš, who was directly involved in the filming, will give a lecture introducing these unique documents.
