Radio 1 close-up #7: Sasha Michailidis
Another part of the programme dedicated to the famous voices of Radio 1, which you can see live in our Reading Room. The next guest of Jana Kománková and/or Jerry Žák will be Saša Michailidis.
He grew up with pirate radios. He'd been listening to Radio 1 since Stalin, then he made a cheeky phone call one day and started broadcasting in October 1993. With zero experience, good intentions, pseudo-intellectual pomposity and southern passion. Successively at R1 he did the Film at Five and Bold Inches shows, night and day DJ, assistant technician, technician, program director, director. Whatever was needed and liked. He owes everything to Radio 1, including his wife. The best thing was and is simply spending time with people in and around R1. Now he hosts the critical-reflective cultural programmes ArtZóna on CTart and Akcent on ČRo Vltava. He also works for the HBO television station and SVOD platform MAX as an acquisition manager. He wants to hang out at R1 again, but he can't do it anymore with his new desk.
