Paint. Work on sometimes almost endless areas of roof, garage door, fence. A single perfect area of paint that needs to be applied regularly. And yet the paint is marred by cats and smudges! Drips and splashes... Only - you can't leave that on a door. That's where you need a good coat of paint. But you can stain the canvas all you like. It's liberating when you feel like you can.
