Stefan Segi: Non-Correct Literature
What are the reactions of the Czech literary field to the demands associated with political correctness? Which areas of literature are openly defined as "incorrect" and why? Where does political correctness end and freedom of speech begin? And can correctness be defined at all? These and other questions are addressed by Stefan Segi in his book Uncorrect Literature: political correctness in Czech literature and literary communication published by Academia.
The book presentation will be followed by a debate on the relationship between (popular) literature and society, the responsibility of writers and the changes in post-revolutionary thinking about literature, with Hana Blažková, Petr A. Bílek and Jakub Machek.
A subtle gastrojazz band will make the end of the Friday evening pleasant for the visitors*.
Free admission.
