Four-member musical ensemble Tokdat is an original project of composer and guitarist Tomáš Mika. The band is based on the raw sound of a jazz quartet and on uncompromising compositions that move on the edge of minimalism and maximalism, which, although they are themselves difficult to classify in terms of genre, inevitably reflect genres and music that the author is involved in other ensembles, such as contemporary classical music, folk music, jazz or popular and rock music. The emphasis is on rhythmic intricacy and on the interconnection of the individual instrumental parts, which, despite their individual austerity, together form a complex whole.
