Tom Braun: Butterflies on Acid
Tomáš Braun (1981, Děčín), guitarist, artist, high school teacher and translator living at the foot of the Bohemian Central Highlands. In his musical and artistic work he reflects the surreality of everyday life, his own diary entries and the mood of the North Bohemian Sudetenland. In 2022 he released a solo EP Butterflies on Acid at the Fields5.
He is the bandleader of the Prague fusion trio PLOY and co-creator of the grindcore experiment BRAUNCHOLDA. He is also active in a free-jazz band with drummer Jan Horvath, saxophonist Jan Grunt and bassist Jiri Matys. The collaboration with Olga Stehlikova resulted in the LP VEJCE//EGGS, and the audiobook Tak trochu nad craky (Just Above the Clouds) with Básnik Tich. As a cellist and trumpeter, he is part of a group of musicians under the name Strakův pojízdný cirkus, which is dedicated to experimental music and improvisation. He works as an artist under the pseudonyms TOMB and LINDE VON BRAUN.
