The book Narratives from the Vinyl Age repays the debt to a phenomenon that has shaped generations of fans, but to which no concentrated attention has been paid in this country: the gramophone record. What was the first ever Czech one? How is record playing related to radio broadcasting? And why is it making a comeback in the era of digital technology?
