An authentic journal that captures the events of the first moments of the night of 20 and 21 August 1968 and the first day of the occupation. . The authors of the first shots were director Ota Skalski (today the doyen of Czech news reporters) and cameraman Vladimír Holomek - they filmed in the dead of night at Ruzyně airport. In the morning, others joined the filming in the streets of Prague.... The opening words of the commentary warn, "One of the darkest nights in the history of Czechoslovakia", and the picture shows viewers the events in various parts of Prague as they managed to film the events of the first day of the invasion by the troops of the five Warsaw Pact states - and the first dead. The commentary concludes by expressing the belief that "brute violence will never forever overcome the power of the spirit".

Josef Hlinomaz Josef Hlinomaz was a Czech actor, illustrator, dubber and a prominent naive painter. During his lifetime he played dozens of roles in theatre, television and especially in film, in the vast majority of cases minor or supporting roles or episodic roles. He died on 8 August 1978.

Julian Edwin "Cannonball" Adderley was an American jazz saxophonist. Born in Tampa, Florida, he moved to New York City in the mid-1950s. He was a great popularizer of jazz, often speaking about jazz history in his concerts and on television shows. He was born on September 15, 1928.
