CANCELLED: Penthouse + Moriah Woods + Mr Pink and the Bad Thoughts
Unfortunately, sometimes even great events have complications and this is one of them. We will keep you informed about the possibility of returning tickets via Goout.
Polish Penthouse is rock'n'roll with a touch of melancholy and soulful atmosphere. In their music you can hear the inspiration of David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Nick Cave. They describe their work as "a search for new visions, textures and songs in an uninhabited place where dusty 70s soul vinyl and 80s studio synth production can be found". The band formed in 2022 and immediately set about creating original songs. Penthouse released their first single Eyes On The Prize in 2023 and their debut album Music Undersea in May.
Moriah Woods is a Polish-American independent multi-instrumentalist whose musical expression combines lyrically driven folk and introspective revelations of the vulnerability of the human condition. She creates an atmosphere where acoustics merge with electronics and the sound of silence is as important as the loops on which she builds her music. The lyrics and elegantly bleak sound are a legacy of female independence in testosterone-fuelled music like PJ Harvey and Cat Power.
Nineties Berlin or Rowland S. Howard? The music of the three-piece band Mr Pink and The Bad Thoughts straddles the line between sad folk and dark country. Their songs are based on heartbreaking life stories and are accompanied by either dark synths or gloomy bass lines. And if that wasn't enough, the girlish backing vocals and Cramps-like primal drums make for an even sadder experience. The whole circus tries unsuccessfully to be cheered up by a fuzzed out western guitar. The media refers to them as the Cav after the stroke or the stagecoach that never came. In May, the band christened their first EP on vinyl, released on DrugMe Records.
