Václav Benedikt: Places in Time

Václav Benedikt (1952 Pilsen), since 1984 lives and works in Prague. He is one of the main representatives of lyrical abstraction and analytical painting. He has been working as an artist for more than forty years. The beginnings of his work were strongly influenced by his private studies with Professor Jiří Patera in 1978-1984. He is engaged in painting, graphic techniques and book illustration. He has held more than 130 solo exhibitions, participated in many workshops, symposia and other projects at home and abroad. He founded and leads the Beneart Artists' Association, where he works mainly as a teacher. His work is represented in numerous collections in the Czech Republic and abroad. The opening of the exhibition of paintings will be spiced up with a musical and poetic entrance by Pavel Tylšar @ spol.
