Guest of Krenovka: An evening of contemporary poetry
Come and listen to contemporary poets in the Unijazz Reading Room. Klára Šmejkalová will present existential to intimate texts, the work of Natalia Dočekalová's work moves between sincerity and stylized expression, Xerodoth Sigmius will read from his new collection and Strunolam will play on a sensitive string.

Klára Šmejkalová (1993)
She studied psychology at Charles University and lives in Prague. She has published two poetry collections Naživo (Šimon Ryšavý, 2014) and Forever (Dobrý reason, 2020). Her poem Sickness is represented in the anthology Pandesia (Prostor, 2021), reflecting the recent pandemic. She has published in journals in domestic literary periodicals (Host, Psí víno, Weles, Polí5, etc.) and in Slovak iLeGaLiT. His work reflects existential and intimate themes - especially the everyday and the ephemeral, the tension of interpersonal relationships and their psychology. There will be texts from a cross-section of their previous work, including those not yet published.
Natálie Dočekalová (1996)
He sees poetry as a way to at least for a small moment to capture the essence of reality. There will be poems from the forthcoming collectionI am, which reflects the author's literary development. The author is primarily poet, but occasionally she seeks an adequate way of self-expression in prose and drama. He has lived in Prague all his life and does not deny that it is possible that the local environment is in a way reflected in her work. Her poetry has been published so far in several proceedings.
Xerodoth Sigmius (1995)
also abbreviated as Sigma, is an author active mainly on the Prague poetry scene. He made his debut as a poet at the Prague Cross Slam.In 2019 he started co-moderate the Poetry, Dude! evenings (until 2022) and became was a finalist in the Slam Poetry Championship. His lyrics have been published in magazines Tvar, Foezie, Dotyky, in Lidové noviny, on portals Sunday Poetry, Wild Wine, etc. He has been published in book form in poetry collections Halftime of Decay and What Lurks in the Darkness. In 2022 his short story was published in the first Czech bizarro anthology Bizarropolis. In the year In 2023 he published his first collection of poetry under the publishing house Petr Štengl Just in time to go home. The lyrics will be from this collection and of more recent manuscripts.
Strunolam (1990)
A high school English teacher and translator by profession, he has been floundering on the scene since about 2013, so far he has only released his debut album Křik Strung (Kampe, 2014), but also published in the almanacs Turnay Queens of Poetry and Manifesto of Anxiety, in the periodical Tvar, and is also co-founder of and leader of the Poetry, Dude!
