Reading Room Birthday Party + Respect Festival Afterparty

Come and celebrate one year with us in the historic Krenovka estate at the foot of Žižkov! In addition to meeting with the unijazzi group over a glass of good booze, you can also look forward to a performance by Robert Nebrensky (Vltava) with his brand new solo project, Milan Urza from the band První hoře and an afterparty by DJ Kalervo Salsa (Finland) and Jam Sessions. Later in the evening we will be joined by friendly musicians from Respect festival, so a spontaneous jam session is not excluded!

Robert Nebrensky: actor and musician, bandleader of the band Vltava, songwriter and occasional painter. He will perform with the project LONE RIDER. In this intimate solo performance, he will present his songs in their original, songwriting form, reveal the circumstances of their creation and answer questions from the audience*. Questions can be placed in a prepared hat upon arrival. With their suggestions, the audience can actively co-create the course of the meeting. Thus, the programme will most likely include songs that fans*of Robert Nebrensky might never have heard in the regular concert programme of the Vltava group.

Milan Urza: bpoet with a guitar, known as the frontman of the band První Hora and writer. After his successful debut album I almost forgot (Galén) is preparing his second solo album full of intimate folk ballads. In his work he follows the best of the Czech and foreign songwriting tradition à la Leonard Cohen or the early Jaromír Nohavica. He plays primarily for those who like to dig into authentic, personally tuned music with poetic lyrics.

Afterparty: DJ Kalervo Salsa (Finland) and Jam Sessions. The golden era of salsa and boogaloo, afrobeat, afrojazz and other rarities.
