+ End of June +

Here we go! The bell rings, school is out... But Reading Room isn't over yet! What do you have to look forward to before you head into the whirlwind of the holidays?

The week starts with another screening of 16mm film by Fila and Adam on Monday 26 June at 20:00. This time Vladimír Jiránek (author of Bob and Bobek) with a series of short cartoons, Jiří Brdečka with the adventures of Aria Prairie and others will be on the silver screen.

On Tuesday at 19:30 you can look forward to a concert by the Prague Quiet Music Collective, which will play music by Ian Mikysky inspired by the work of poet Petr Borkovec. The music is always based on texts whose central themes include the relationship to nature or the specific rhythm of experience.

On Wednesday 28 June at 18:00, another Openly about Prague debate will take place, this time on the care of Prague's cultural heritage. Do we appreciate enough the architectural values that have been preserved here? And how can we enrich the city with new projects without damaging them?

And Thursday is the last event of the month - a joint concert of Janny's Hog Ranch and Band of Heysek. Janny's Hog Ranch play a rough energetic fusion of rock and roll, disco, grunge and electro wave. Band of Heysek promises animalistic, blues-infused, raw and dirty songs. Start at 20:00.
