+ This week in the Reading Room +

We have one good news and one bad news for you. You can see the bad news *yourself* if you look out the window - it's started to rain. Now the good news! Not only do we have a roof in the Reading Room, but we have a full week of culture, so we offer the perfect sanctuary for rainy days!

Today, Monday 5 June at 19:00, we open a new exhibition - our walls will be flooded with photos Katka Trnková, Honza Walda Valík and Karel Šuster from last year's festival for the Jewish Quarter Boskovice. So if you don't have plans for the evening yet, come and tune in to the atmosphere of the festival, the next edition of which will start in exactly one month!

Event

On Tuesday, with the almost evil date of 6 June, the next Jazzmania Vladimír Kouřil. This time we will listen to the pianist Erroll Garner, International Vienna Art Orchestra Mathias Rüegg, nostalgic melodies of the Czech-English trio of bassist Jiří Slavik and other jazz treasures. Start at 19:00!

Who loves Chess, is already looking forward to Wednesday, when the next Unijazz Open tournament will take place in the Reading Room! So warm up your brains and we look forward to seeing you at our chess boards at 18:00.

On Thursday, 8th June, we are waiting for the long-awaited concert of the Pakistani artist Ustad Noor Bakhshea master who plays the benju, a traditional Baluch instrument. From 20:00 you can enjoy traditional melodies, love ghazals, trance rhythms and Bollywood hits.

Event

And this time there will be a concert on Friday as well - from 20:00 the legend Czech black metal František Štorm, who will play in a perhaps a bit unexpected combination with Prague jazzmen Jan Horvath (drums) and Michal Hrubý (clarinet, saxophone). We have no idea what will come of it, so come and be surprised!
